The Lurker's Den
« on: February 05, 2009, 07:33:35 PM »
AKA another one of my art dumps. d:

Only a select few of the many I drew.

Spoiler: Starting with the -very old-! • show
Julian, an old middle school friend of mine.

Spoiler: And then the -not so- old.. • show

~~~
(** = Recently added.)
Spoiler: And the -new-. • show
Sam.
Different style I tried out. My sense of anatomy still sucks. And I shaded until I didn't know what the heck I was doing. o_O
LaTale - Infel.
Infel - Colored.
Infel - Threat.
Miyu
Fall Down - Backstory included.
Docks - Decent shading for once. :o
Picnic - I wish I'd had more inspiration for drawing this week..
Random.
    '->About those Japanese "Drift" lyrics - the full version, along with what I can only assume (someone correct me if I'm wrong ._.)would be the translation to it, is:
Kaze ni yotte hakobareru
Tsubasa wa natta
Ude ni nigitta
Tsudzuku ni toufuku
Koko ni iru no
Utsuroname de
Watashi wo mirarenai
Kaze ni yotte hakobareru
Mochiage, kaihoushinasai
Kaze no ue no jyoushou
[(I'll) be carried by the wind]
[(I) grew my wings]
[(You) grabbed/held onto my arms]
[(I) continue falling down]
[(I) am here]
[But with (your) vacant eyes,]
[(You) cannot see me/I cannot be seen]
[(I'll) be carried by the wind]
[Raise (me)/lift (me) up, and release (me)]
[(I'll) rise/ascend above the wind]
* Arare Desu - Colored - I stayed up until 2:30am just to finish this.. <_<; Old one is under 2nd spoiler.
** Trip - A somewhat old sketch I found recently.
** Random - Just something I drew out of boredom.
** I took this:
Spoiler: show
And made this:
Spoiler: show
(Some of those's hosts are temporarily down atm.) The chibi "Neko Eikyuu" with the doll's really adorable, the perspective is well done too. You seem to be awesome at chibi stuff, heheh.
I like the others two, although there are some proportional problems. E.g. the praying one's forearm seems to be abnormally big; really like that one's concept though!
Changed the links. Should work now.
And yeah. I know. Like I said, my sense of anatomy sucks. Ah, the cons of being a self-taught artist. ._.
Eh, they're decent, better than anything I can do anyhow. :P Just some practice on the proportions and you're all set. And ah, they are loading now. Really like the standing one with the cross around the neck, looks really serene.
they all seem a little...bright?
though, I like the neko too, pretty cute. and the surroundings of Julian.
erm just thought of the word to replace that.
I believe I meant the drawings were a little faint.
This stuff's pretty good! I envy you for being able to draw this well. I've been wanting to be able to for like ages. Never manage to though XD
Though I have to say High Priestess Eikyuu looks a little drugged when praying or whatever she's doing o_o even though the drawing itself is neat though :D
Need scripting help? Toss me a PM and I'll see what I can do.
Also able to help with anything RMXP related. Please do not hesitate to ask.
My scanner's fault. It make my lines show lighter than in actuality. :-\
The Julian drawing is probably one of the only time I actually drew a background in. <_<
Haha, my drawings aren't that good. D: I still consider myself a novice at drawing. I suck in a lot of areas.
LOL. Is that because of her partially opened eyes? (She is praying, btw.)
Wow. Nice drawings. Which reminds me, I haven't played Ragnarok for two months now....
Two new drawings added to first post~
I have a thing about drawing on lined paper, but awesomely (is that a word? It doesn't really sound like it..) enough, they disappeared when I scanned them.  :)
Ooh, the La Tale one is probably my favourite of the ones you posted. I know some old school RM people like Rye (Memento Vivere) are playing La Tale too!
That lyrics translation's really cool, and a nice little sketch to go along with it. c: I was mouthing the lyrics to the melody to see what it sounds like, hahah.
Considering the amount of time I spent drawing and tweaking it, I was hoping it'd be good.
I was mouthing the lyrics to the melody to see what it sounds like, hahah.
I tried my best to make it so it'd have about the same amount of syllables per line as the original without having the lyrics sound completely different. @_@; I think I did an okay job.. Nearly fits perfectly. However, I do wish I didn't have to cut out or reword parts of it like I did with
"Spread my wings and wind'll drift me away" -> "I'll be carried by the wind"
and
"You look through my gaze,
Even though I am here,
With your vacant stare."
to
"I am here,
But with your vacant eyes
You cannot see me."
Heheh, often it sounds better in an altered way in a different language anyway. I heard some Chinese song lyrics being translated word-for-word into English and vice versa and they made me want to puke. :(
