The maps are looking really beautiful, Saul. ^^ I love the desert one especially-it really catches the atmosphere perfectly. I think the mountain one would do with some screen toning, though, to give it a little more 'feeling.'

I love the menu, btw. Wonderful work. ^^

Trying to perfect my much hated task of making pixel art. Some of you have seen this already, but not yet enough!

EDIT: Picture removed. Because.

Great screenshot, I love how it looks so positively retro while still having its own style.

One little thing: I think changing the direction of the pixels that are supposed to be the floor (i.e. rotating them slighly) might result in a better display of three-dimensionality. At the moment the floor doesn't look to different from the wall, and the perspective (the position of the sofa)already indicates that this is not a direct front-view.

Haha, this is a very minor thing, though. Not necessary to change this.

Hm, well, there actually isn't a separation between wall and floor at all. When the screen first loads, that background is by itself, like some generic game screen background, then the couch and the entertainment center slide in from opposite sides. It's a pretty basic animation. I'm not sure if the animation makes up for the lack of floor, though! XD

I'll mess around with it and see if it looks better with a semi-distinct wall portion.

Yeah I took it as if there was no floor or wall, just a "transparent" background :P This should be more obvious in the game as the assets load I assume. If it's not then it might be worth a shot trying for a floor/wall setup, but looks good to me like this.

I changed it. The background is more dynamic, inspired more heavily by Trainer Battles from Pokemon.

With the horizontal lines, it looks like there might or might not be a floor, depending on whether you want there to be one. :P Looks nice, much more polished, can't wait for the demo :D

Just finished mapping out a castle city. It's got no people in it at the moment, but tell me what you think! :plat:

Click either this link or the spoiler-ed image.

Spoiler: It's pretty big. • show

Note: This is of course without any picture overlays like sunbeams and whatnot.

Edit: Updated. Some of the events moved around because of the screenshot thinger. And the door of the castle is missing.

I clicked the large picture an thought to myself, "Self, Raxus needs to get the hell out of here." But then I clicked the normal link and saw the whole overview, and I really like it! It has a great flow, and it feels so purposeful. I really want to see it with proper lighting, but I think the overall format of the place is pretty great.

Most specifically, I like how the buildings are big. I think when the house are TOO disproportionate to their insides, it ruins the Suspension of Disbelief thing. But this cool, sir. This is cool.

Now tell us what the project is already!!!

Whoa, that's a really well done map! I especially the contrast between the organized built structures and the natural arrangements of the trees & plants. :) Seems like you put a lot of thoughts into the layouts as well.

Almost too much time. I have five (5!) other attempts that look way worse than "bad" before this one. I cringe at them, separate them, and keep them in a dark place only to laugh at them and mock their very existence.

Glad you guys like it. I just put in these nice sun rays so that it places the upper left corner of the map and radiating outward into golden light. I think it looks a lot better. I think. :P

Any criticism? I'll take even the smallest mundanities (is that even a word?).
