Yeah, we hear it plenty in the news of the disaster. Sounds really really bad.

Oh, and the "super-illuminated" nights I mentioned before reoccurred a couple of times. You're right, it's probably light reflection or something. In daylight it's dangerous enough to break hurt your eyes (it's still direct sunlight) when exposed for too long, so it's probably enough to multiply what little light night has.

Floods in Queensland up north-east where it's a tropical climate and the rainy season. Fires in the south-east in Victoria and New South Wales. The fires have been labelled as the worst natural disaster in Australia.

Indeed, I heard there are 181 victims due to the bushfires, and the count is expected to rise(possibly up to 3xx?)
I suppose it's really quite sad on their end. the fires spread rapidly and nearly destroyed a few towns I think, and the wind speeds apparently reach up to about 80kmph....scary.
The wind will cease to be one day, and as I pass, what marks remain?
Graduation is not the end, we'll still be friends from here on out

Well the police haven't managed to get into all of the towns and count all of the dead yet, but yeah the official toll is 181 at the moment. It completely destroyed about two or three towns.
