AKA National Novel Writing Month

For those who don't know about it, (a group that included me until this morning), NaNoWriMo is an annual competition that challenges people to write a 50,000 word novel in a month, it's a way of blowing off creative steam and is supposed to be a lot of fun

So will anyone here be participating in it?

Ahh, I remember this from like 6 years ago! Back then I was on a certain large-scaled forum that included a writer's board that I actively participated in, and NaNoWriMo was always stickied when it came around. c: I never got to participate in it myself though, as it's a lot of work. But aye, certainly a good opportunity for some creative writing.

This sounds fun. I would definitely do this if I had the time, but I barely have time to work on my own novel, which isn't even close to twice the amount of work needed for this event after 8 months...

Sounds interesting I'll try it like next time it comes around as I'm still working on a novel of my own (Hobby).

I think I get extra credit if I do this, and since I miss writing, I will probably participate. (I have some fun ideas too...)
This might hurt, it's not safe / But I know that I've gotta make a change / I don't care if I break,
At least I'll be feeling something

If it happened in my summer holidays, I might attempt it. However I have too much stuff to do at the moment.

Well, I d get extra credit for this, and i signed up and all, but I only get credit for writing three pages. Therefore, I will post the first three pages here, and that may be all there will ever be to the story. (Although I am rather fond of it already, so there may be a couple chapters by the end of the month.)

If you want to see something I already wrote, here it is! (http://www.geocities.com/piscis_ex_aqua/storyview.html)

Read it; cool stuff. Not much to comment on the story so far as it's still just starting, but I've learned some stuff from reading it as far as the descriptives go - especially the prelude. The intro's style and the references to light's speed was used rather effectively, and had a nice feel. As for criticisms: After the intro, it seemed to fall back toward a more generic path in its style, but again, it's too early so there's not much to be said. I can't help but feel that some of the names seem unnecessarily complicated, though. o:

Hehe, it's really old, and really bad, honestly. It IS actually finished, and I had the whole story posted there at some point, but I took it down. Mihwe's name is the tragedy of the story; it SOUNDS soo cool (Mee-hway) but looks so bad. :'( My friends liked his name so much they wouldn't help me change it, lol.

I need some help. I really like the name TAY-vin for a main male character, but I'm not sure how to spell it. I'm leaning towards Teivon or Taevin.
