« on: February 11, 2014, 12:57:28 AM »
I had viewd another posts about Chinese translation in here
http://freebirdgames.com/forum/index.php?topic=3564.0

And I have try translating it by translating English text to Chinese and modifying the font from Times New Romen to 黑体 and other Chinese fonts, but the Chinese can not show up in game。
Can I recieve some help? I use DMK 4.9.1.My WINDOWS type chcp is 936.

Another problem is that does To the moon could be translated in chinese under Linux?

The topic you linked to mentions an unofficial copy of the game with chinese translation. If you can find the rgssad file that comes with that copy, I may be able to test it on Linux.
Currently, the mkxp engine made by Ancurio, which is used for the official Linux and Mac port of the game, does not support different localizations on the same game package, but you can patch localized rgssad files to work with mkxp engine.

There is nothing that is fundamentally preventing translations from
running on mkxp, it's just that at the moment, TtM has no localization
support whatsoever, every translation is just another game, with new
texts inserted/replaced; since many parts of the game scripts have
been changed (mostly Win32API calls) to make the game run on mkxp,
and those changes are not reflected in the translated releases, it will
work as well as a completely unpatched TtM, ie. not at all.

Also, there is one nasty Win32 call inside a map file (where the events
are stored), so it's not even enough to just patch Scripts.rxdata. Add
to that the fact that even the scripts themselves contain strings that
require translation, the whole process becomes just a whole new
headache.. mostly tedious work really. Slightly less than doing all of
the porting work all over again.

I'd like to provide proper localization support in the future, but that
whole thing is still a little bit up in the air.

I agree about the things on them.
We can translation or edit the text on RMXP and DMK via Windows, but We cant test them because most of WIN32API has been deleted, some is in the map.
So the only way to Linuix is this:
Edit the origional the linux file in Windows and re-test in Linux.
