Pixel Sprite Art Commission [RESOLVED]
« on: July 09, 2013, 01:04:33 PM »
Hey, guys. I'm looking to pay a person for art assets. That's right, pay.

I need some custom pixel character sprites for my newest project (Social Caterpillar) and, unfortunately, it looks like the fine fellow I intended to hire can't quite do it yet.

I've looked around the internet for quite a while trying to find people with the will and skill, but haven't found much. If you're interested in getting a quick job, or know someone who is, I'm hiring. :)

What I need are sprites that work well with this type of setting:

The sprites already shown are placeholders, and I have no intention of using them.

I only need about 15 different characters to be made, and less than half of them even need walk cycles. As far as sprite assets go, that's not too bad.

My price is flexible, but I can guarantee a minimum of $112.00 for the work.

Thanks for dropping by. :)

Oh cool, I just noticed they're playing Carcassone.

Yeah, it would be cool if someone around here were to get into this type of thing. They'd make a fair amount of money, that's for sure.

Spoiler: show

I replied at Shigi's forum, but I thought I should to be totally nosey. :P

1) Do you just need sprites of characters/people?

2) Do you want a completely custom template?

3) You said not all of them require walking cycles - will there be other animations for them (sitting, reading, etc.)?

I'm thinking that if this is within my skill, I might be able to help you out. D= Though these questions could be useful for anyone!

Yeah, Nelly, listen to the lady!

I can't speak for Merlandese, but I know they're of people, Strawberry. :)

1) Do you just need sprites of characters/people?

Yep. I have all of the objects and all of the backgrounds already made.

2) Do you want a completely custom template?

Yes. No frankenspriting, and I don't want it to look like new versions of RM sprites.

3) You said not all of them require walking cycles - will there be other animations for them (sitting, reading, etc.)?

There may be a few sitting, but the priority is to have them standing with very few of them walking.

I'm interested to see what types of unique, modern sprites you can come up with, Strawberri. If they're what I'm looking for, I'll consider it for sure! :)

I do have two things I need to mention--stipulations, actually. Business is a sour thing, but I'd like to be straightforward about it. This isn't just for Strawberri, but for anyone interested.

The first is that the sprites need to be done in a timely manner. I made this entire game, except for the sprites, in a few months, with no one paying me. If an artist can't make a little over a dozen character sprites in less than that time, I don't have a reason to hire them.

The other major stipulation is I'm not just paying for half a product--I need them all. I can't have one artist make me three sprites and another make me ten. Either it's a full, real job commitment, or it's nothing.

Failing in either of these ways will mean that a) I won't use any of the work and b) you won't get any of the money. :/

If you're down with that, and the style you make is to my liking, then great! I have money to give, and we have a deal to make. :)
