Save Files
« on: March 01, 2013, 04:27:04 AM »
Stuck due to a bug and your last save file doesn't help?
Don't worry here is the solution, download one of these save files from parts of the game, where some people had problems.

Step 1: Download the file (they are attached to this post, so you need a forum account to see them)
Step 2: Find your TtM Savegame folder
Possible path:
C://User/[Username]/AppData[a hidden folder]/Roaming/To The Moon
(usually they aren't in Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/To the Moon, which are the other game files)
Step 3: Copy the file into there and rename it to Save1.rxdata (or 2 or 3)

I've also uploaded a save right before the hidden scene, so you can see it without beating the game again, if you've missed it.

Edit: Seems like you have to be a registered user in order to see the files.

For those who just want the achievement, there is an app savefile for that.
I've also added a file for those that have problems with the Zombieva-part.

Are these files for the Windows version? I'm assuming the coding is different, because I downloaded the Carnival one onto my Mac and everything, got up right to steamapps/common/tothemoon, and there's no game save files to copy it into. Just the app. I copied it into the To the Moon folder (where the app is located), and it didn't work.

It depends on which part of the game that save file is from, but it usually is not a good idea to use the Windows save files on Mac and Linux.
If you still want to try them, here is the path to the save files:
Code: [Select]
~/Library/Application Support/freebirdgames/tothemoon/The ~ at the start means the Library folder available in your user's folder.
That Library folder is hidden by default on OS X 10.7 and later, in order to access it you can use different methods, one of them is pressing Command-Shift-G which is the "Go to folder" shortcut in Finder, then paste the above path in it and press Go.
Please don't forget to:
1- Backup your existing save files.
2- Rename the save files you download from this topic to save1.rxdata, save2.rxdata, etc.

Thank you so much for this - I played the game all the way through on my Macbook, in bed, late at night, last summer, and I was just a wreck by the end. I love it so much, but I wasn't feeling quite up to all that emotion again.

I have the PC achievement now, because I am weird about collecting little things like that. Watching the final scenes still got me pretty choked up, but I didn't have to go through half a box of tissues to dry my eyes.

Hi,
so i did everything (the three point above) but when I start the game, the save isn't there. I noticed that in the doc "To the moon" there were three other doc's (Minisode_1, minisode_2 and To the moon) so I also tried putting in the second "to the moon" doc and still nothing. Should I put it somwhere else?
Sorry for my english, it isn't my first language

The save files are not in the folder with the usual game files and minisodes
It's usually in
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\To the Moon - Freebird Games
make sure it's the right one (also edited my post to make it a bit clearer)
