Quintessence's battle system isn't a script, it's 100% evented. You can find many useful scripts here:

By the way, did you get the PM I just sent you?

No, I mean evented. As in everything is done by event commands, so it's not a script that can be copy pasted.

Etc. etc. Not as efficient as scripting, but it works effectively.

And I can't really replicate the system to give you a "copy" to use in your game, because you have to manually change all the codes to suit whatever you have in mind, and that == making your own system anyhow, pretty much.  :<

Also the good thing about Quintessence is the battle system is only for Quintessence...

Doing an evented battle system like that would take too long, i'd say about a month for everything inculding bosses and just doing 2 hours everyday.

you really should just script them, it makes things a lot cleaner. you obviously understand how to structure things logically, so its just all about learning the syntax

The main reason why I still haven't gotten off my bottom to pick up RGSS is because I am afraid that it'll mess up my currently unstable grasp on the other languages that I am required to learn in school, aka Java and C. When you are just beginning to learn languages, a difference in syntax can easily mess you up. :< Perhaps when I get a better grasp on those first.

And Tsui, there are some good tutorials to get you started on rmxp.org's forums. There are some good start-up tutorials in the scripting academy there as well.

I also agree btw, kan, Learning how to ruby script would be a pain when things don't go your way.

It could reli f**k up a system that worked to begin with.

Eh, I'm not really too worried about that tbh. I've taken some brief look at some codes, and overall it's the same as any other programming language logically, if not simpler due to it being a script rather than primary language.
