Funky Freebirdian F(Ph)rases
« on: July 02, 2012, 11:30:51 PM »
So, I got to thinking today... I use some phrases that not everyone uses. Such as...

"Have fun with that." - Kind of like "to each his own." A sarcastic phrase kind of meaning "I'm not going to do that (or I would never do that), but you can do it if you really want to."

or

"Apparently." - Almost like my version of "like." Used in such situations as "Well, apparently the dog ate my homework." or "Did the dog eat your homework?" "Well, apparently it did." Kind of like "I guess so."

Anybody else have any other unique phrases they use in day-to-day life?

Oh, I have so so many of these. Only my closest friends have a clue what I'm talking about.

I'll often say "Get out of town!"/"On your bike!" when someone says/does something I'm not happy with.

Um.... "Hold the phone, Ramone."
"You've gotta be joshing me."
When I do something stupid I'll say "It's been a big day"

I'd say more, but I look stupid enough already. I swear they don't sound as strange in regular conversation.  :reivsweat:

Oh, and thanks to stupid BAE I've started saying "Yush" instead of "Yes"  :seraisweat:

Spoiler: show

Haha, those are all awesome. Back when you would say someone just got "owned," my cousin and I would sometimes say "I just put you in the owned-phanage." :P

Yeah I mostly do the greetings.
I use:
Yo
Osu
Selamat Pagi/Selamat Malam
Ohayou
etc.

I also quite often quote from plays of Theater of Jára Cimmrman according to situation but that' untranslatable -.-

Also instead of boring "Oh dear" I go with: Kami-sama, Buddha-sama, Radim-sama, Radim-ne-sama. (ne is czech for no so there is a pun in the last one ne-sama is a honorary title for older sister but if ne is czech no then Radim is not -sama... Erm... Hope you get it)

I have a friend who only says "Have a nice day" when he's upset at the person as they part ways. :D He's the king of passive-aggressive. It's funny to watch.

Gah!! Nothing makes me angrier than people being passive aggressive.  -cuss- Gets me fuming. So I guess their technique works.  XD

I'm kind of passive agressive, but no one seems to believe me ::)

So, I remembered another phrase when I randomly said it today: If something is really really big, I call it "Honkin' Huge." :P

Not exactly unique, but I constantly use "meh whatever" when I wanna show I don't want to support small talk. And I never want to support small talk, in contrast to everyone around me.

Oh wait, ain't I'm doing small talk right now? Shi--
