Deep thought about this game.
« on: June 15, 2012, 08:44:41 PM »
I just finished playing this game and have some deep thought about it. SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT  A computer can be considered a mirror since you can sometimes see yourself in it. Well the messages on the computer stated you have to kill 'birdie'. I have the ending where the girl takes the gun, has an off screen gunshot and then turns back to only the bird being there. Does that mean the 'mirror' lied? And that she didn't have to kill it so she killed her self? Could it possibly mean the title has a meaning? I'd like to hear your thoughts too, so you can go ahead and post on this.

Wow, that's actually a pretty interesting theory about it.

So, the computer itself was a lie. :o

There have been a lot theories about this game, and yours is an interesting one! :)

Personally I think the game was made to create a certain feeling rather than be analysed. I still like talking about theories though!

Spoiler: show

Kan has already stated in an interview about To the Moon, that he starts creating a game with the player's feeling at the end scenes of the game in mind, so this is true.
But there is still room for theories why he gathered certain elements in the game and what's their meaning :)
Altough it may be possible he just threw in random stuff fitting the atmosphere he wanted to create ^^

No, i dont think the "mirror" is the computer. If she was stuck in the house for much time, the mirror is her only way to see someone. So the title can be interpret as the mirror, her only hope, her only friend, lied.
