Kind-Of Reminiscent Of The 'Final Fantasy' Series. (Then, Again, So's TtM.)

Not so much the story as the graphics, methinks.

Also, nice avatar you got there. :-\

Spoiler: show

hey, i am very grateful for the sheet, but i am wondering, why are they so much different than the game?
i am looking around now for a few days (no kidding) and i found only one video of johnnys version that sounds exactly like in game. i cant find the sheets, but if someone is still interested, or able to confirm for sure that this is indeed the version we hear in game, please say so. heres the link

The sheets to Johnny's version are linked to in the youtube video description. For the less initiated, click here and navigate to transcription To the Moon ~ For River - Piano (Jonny's Version) r381.

You hear several versions in the game, that's why there's also several versions provided on the OST. I'm quite certain that's the one Johnny plays whilst at NASA in-game (and is probably used elsewhere).

Actually, The One Johnny Plays At NASA Is Still 'Johnny's Version.'
This One Is 'To The Moon - Piano  (Ending Version),' It Plays Over The end Credits.

Hope That Clears Things Up!

Sincerely,

NEvaWHO

Hi, for those of you interested in playing For River - Johnny's Version, I've transcribed and uploaded sheet music for you here.

It's not an overly difficult piece, so even intermediate-beginner players should be able to handle it, I think.
However, I do recommend listening to it again from the soundtrack (or on Youtube) to get a feel for it. This is a very emotional piece, with many and subtle changes in both tempo and volume; the more obvious ones are marked in the sheets.
Anyway, enjoy!

Is it just me, or is this version on a different key from one in the OST?

Please pin that thread, people keep searching for it :)
(Also the search function doesn't seem to work for me, I haven't found anything with the searchword "sheet")

@Duodecim: You are quite right that the sheet music is arranged in a different key than the OST. Let me shift the discussion a bit to the music of the game (because that's what I am familiar with): Searching the web reveals that RPG Maker includes a pitch shifting option, and it seems to me that Kan used it liberally; some of the variations are not among the .ogg files included with the game. The game includes one variation of For River played in C major (called the "piano version") and three in D major. (intro, ending, "recording version"). However, I have heard versions in C sharp (the version you point to), B (the first view of the house interior within the game) and B flat (can't remember where this one was) played within the game as well. Some of these were slightly out of tune with my Roland E-16, indicating that they were pitch-shifted. Additionally, a cursory glance at the OST reveals an extended main theme/intro which modulates towards the end (the game version does not), sounding very pitch-shifty as well.

So it would be fair to say that this is only a matter of arrangement.

Good research you did there, your assumption is right.

I looked through these pages and didn't see "Having Lived" sheet music. I hope I wasn't just blind, but if that sheet music could be made, would be great.

Here's sheets for Sarah and Tommy's version (as it is available in the OST) of "For River". It should be quite faithful; if you find mistakes or find missing notes, let me know.

If anyone's interested, I found sheets for Everything's Alright at http://fyeahtothemoon.tumblr.com/post/39150449110/to-the-moon-piano-sheets, and decided it would be cool to have a nice-looking printable version. So I typeset it in Lilypond, resulting in http://zlkj.in/moon. The vocals aren't really correct, so I might update it with fixed rhythm and notes at some point.
