Vacant Sky Vol. 1: Contention
« on: June 25, 2008, 07:21:08 PM »

Vacant Sky is a project I started six years ago.  It's an RPG Maker XP game, released in three episodes.  At long last, the third episode, Angel of Justice, has been released, putting a close on this long journey.  I hope you all enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it.

You can download it here: http://www.projectbc.net/vacantsky

Sample some of the music here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/ProjectBCx

By the numbers:
-11 total party members, including guests, each with a custom face portrait
-77 original tracks in the OST
-5 vocal tracks
-5 endings

Auria's hair is adorable! I had to make a post about it  ;D

I will check out the demo as soon as I get some free time.

I've always loved the artworks of this. c: I downloaded it yesterday and tried to play, but it kept crashing at the first cutscene after title screen. I even tried deleting the files and reinstalling. I'll try again when I get home today, and if it still does that I'll send you a screenshot. Most likely it's a problem with my computer; I had similar crashes with the new Memento Vivere too. Absolutely love your music selections by the way; I was listening to them on loop yesterday. :)

That's strange.  Did you download it from Mediafire?  Mediafire seems to be screwing up RMXP games for some reason (I believe that's the cause of the MV crashes).  When I uploaded MV from my computer to Megaupload, it ran for a friend of mine that was having that problem.  Anyways, if it gives me an error, let me know what it says and I'll see what I can do.

And thanks about the music.  Most of it is unoriginal in the demo due to problems keeping a stable musician, but our original soundtrack is finally under production now. :)

The art is boy a friend of mine named Joel.  His site is here: http://www.joelmorganart.com/
Why can't you play it?  If you're having trouble running it, maybe I can help.  And thanks. :)

Whew!  I've been away from the RPG Maker community for a long time while I've been caught up with real life, so I haven't really been talking about my game, but it's finally done!  You can check out some of the songs from the OST on Youtube while you wait for it to download, if you like: http://www.youtube.com/user/ProjectBCx

Ooh, congratz on completing it! That's a great deed in any medium. I listened to some of the tracks, they're very euphonic and atmospheric, great stuff!

from i've seen it looks REALY good, but an error in a script popped up in the first conversation (between michael and an examiner or something like that?) i'll give you a screen when i get back to it, but do you know what could be wrong?

EDIT:

here's the shot of the error

Spoiler: show

Oh damn, the dreaded error 58.  I know one other person that got this problem and it was a sound card issue.  What kind of computer are you running?  What's your sound card?  Are your drivers fully up to date?  As far as I know, this is a hardware issue.  You might be able to solve it temporarily by hitting F1 and disabling sound effects.

Thanks much.  I'll give Tarranon your compliments.

Will I be missing a lot if I turn sound effects off? I got my computer rather recently (it was some time in the last year), so my stuff should be fairly up to date.
