United States Sharing The Internet

Ok so, other countries such as China want equal control of the internet, but the United States has most control over it.
And why not?
The United States created the internet, it's ours to do as we wish no matter how many people are using it.
I love to use this as an example...
If you were a kid and you got a toy. You let some of your friends play with it...Thats fine but it's still yours and you can have it back whenever you want, but do you think those friends have the right to take that toy and say you can't play with it? Or lets say you want it back and they refuse to give it back. It's your toy and it's your say.

So the basic idea is, the United States shouldn't have to share equal control for something that is theirs.

Maybe the idea, but not entire technology. The WWW protocol was developed in Geneva (Switzerland).

Well, aren't there sections of the internet that are controled by other countries?

The toy comparison isn't really good. Internet is more like everyone is playing with the toy at the very same time - then why would it matter who is the toy's owner? Kids don't really care about percentages when owning a toy or not.
Either the Internet is the US's or someone else's, everyone uses it. Saying it is yours doesn't change a thing. I don't see why Americans want to have full control of everything when it shouldn't really matter.

Yes, it should share.
The Internet is now used by many countries. Some secret agencies even use it to keep secret info. If the US would go to war against the employers of such an agency, stealing it's secret info would be highly unethical and would strain diplomatic relations even more. It's too late for you to fix a toy that you lent to somebody and that somebody modified.

I meant "secret" Chinese and Latvian pages that I happen to occur to once in a while.

For the Latvian webpage - yes. To be exact, I jokingly entered... oh wait, I can't tell you. But I can say the URL was hilarious.
For the Chinese - apparently, someone entered my email as the one the webpage should write to if they asked to reset the password. Fortunately enough, I wrote back before I was punished for nothing and notified them of this situation.

I remember when someone hacked the website of the Lithuanian ethics' commission.
It was grotesque that they spammed it with swearwords, but it was hilarious nevertheless.

I know, I didn't like it either. In fact, I was so grossed out by the disgraceful Russian swearwords, but I laughed inside myself at their stupidity.
