Obama, ACORN, and Fraud
« on: September 28, 2009, 09:34:46 PM »
I was wondering has anyones thoughts on Obama changed since we discovered ACORN was responsible for fraud during the election?

What are you're thoughts on ACORN at this point?

Obviously if you don't know, you shouldn't be posting in this thread.
(No offense)
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) is a collection of community-based organizations in the United States that advocate for low- and moderate-income families by working on neighborhood safety, voter registration, health care, affordable housing, and other social issues. ACORN has over 400,000 members and more than 1,200 neighborhood chapters[1] in over 100 cities across the U.S. as well as in Argentina, Canada, Mexico, and Peru. ACORN was founded in 1970 by Wade Rathke and Gary Delgado. Maude Hurd has been National President of ACORN since 1990.

Now please don't do that again, not in this section.

Get off your high horse, Sizzle. He didn't know, so he asked a question to find out. And the last time I checked, asking a question about a subject wasn't spam. Now if he chooses to learn more about ACORN, he can make contributions to the thread. But no one's forbidden to post on a thread just because they don't know about it. Especially if the poster's goal is to gain knowledge.

Any more questions, mepwnn?

(No more, thanks) I've not had a good reputation here in the first place

This link was the first one I found on Google News. I haven't gotten around to reading it, but I can understand that ACORN doesn't have a good reputation in the first place. However, I can't believe that Obama and ACORN would fraud the election - if that's the right term I should be using. Also, this may as well be something from some eccentric guy who still didn't get over the fact Obama became president.

*Ignoring Amaranth's spam*
The whole deal is Obama has been giving them money to fund their organization...Even after it was discovered that ACORN is responsible for assisting voters in fraud.
Obama has had ties with ACORN since the start of his political career.

Edit:Though congress has cut all funding to them which has made a huge step to getting rid of this corrupt organization but Obama still insist on supporting them.

I don't know what to think just yet . . . I'm going to keep an eye on ACORN and Obama and see what else happens with their ties.

(As for you, Sizzle, you need to quit being a smart-ass and start treating people with respect. You don't see anyone looking down on you for asking a simple question, do you? I doubt it. Give it a try. You might actually like the idea.)

( Since this is the debate section, it's reasonable to keep the research out of the thread, especially since a quick google would solve any "what is ___" questions. They're certainly fair game for anywhere else, but this section is more formal, and if everyone went to a debate and asked for things like that it'd get messy fast. But Sizzle could've probably told it in a warmer way, and perhaps add an explanation when the misunderstanding of why he said what he said occurred. )

[I personally haven't been kept up to date on US politics for the last couple of months, so I don't have anything constructive to say on it yet.]

I personally think that simple questions, even ones remedied with Google, should be welcomed here---perhaps not en masse, but that's not my point.

Personally, I don't know how to think on the fact. If he DID, in fact, use ACORN for his election, then it surprises me that I have not heard of it at all on the news. Maybe, it's a falsehood that anarchists are using...
