Has anyone here played Arcana: Essence of All?
« on: September 18, 2009, 08:57:22 PM »
I rather like this game (I love the story concept) but I can't get to the next area after Haze's hometown. The next stop is supposed to be south of where I am now, but there are no paths that lead beyond a dead end. It's driving me nuts. I've had this on my computer for a while now, hoping I'd figure things out, but I'm still stuck. :P

Any suggestions? (You can find the latest update at RRR.)

Sorry, but I haven't heard of it.

But, you seem to be on a RPG Maker Game frenzy. I suggest Ballad of the Wind. It's at Creation Asylum, if you're interested. :P

Well, I love RPGs . . . and I gotta play something while waiting for my Quintessence fix. So thanks, Raxus. I'll keep that in mind!

Played through it already . . . that was pretty short. The game's decent, though it didn't have much that really grabbed my attention. Not bad, but not great either. I loved seeing more than just a few kinds of restorative items, though. (You could get two different fish at the same price . . . and it might be just me, but I enjoyed seeing things like bread and milk and hot cocoa end up being more helpful than most potions. Food and drink nourish the body more than anything in a vial can.)

Oh, yeah. I almost forgot! Raxus, did the windowskin (or whatever you call the window things for menus and dialogue and such) during the battle sequences piss you off as much as it did me?
White text on a gray background . . . bleh. My eyes are mad at me now. :-\

I tend to be picky about which games stay on my computer, but I might end up keeping this one, even if it's only to have a variety of games. I just hope there will be more to play soon.

Yeah. I didn't like that windowskin. I like the game's simplicity, believe it or not. :P

I'll be sure to look around for RPG Maker games. Though, there are few good one's like Quintessence. I didn't like Nadir's Canon, nor Master of the Wind; so, I'm pretty picky. Tell me if you find any that're interesting! ;)

Well, these are still works in progress (either in the demo phase or part one of a longer story), but:

Arcana: Essence of All (Still stuck! There's, like, a freakin' block in the way! I know I'm supposed to go in this direction!)

Walking the Plank (Piratey goodness!)

Devil Theory

Love and War

Legionwood: Tale of the Two Swords

Completed games:
Visions and Voices (I have yet to actually play through the whole thing---it's short, but if you don't look everywhere you miss stuff . . . and I don't want to get caught up in that when I have so much work to do for school. Maybe over winter break if I end up not going to Japan.)

The Drunken Paladin (Same deal as far as the depth goes. Seems like a long sucker. Another one for my possibly Japan-less winter break.)

The Blacksmith's Apprentice (I really love this one . . . no Hero Chosen by Destiny here---just a boy trying to get coal for his father and running into adventure along the way.)

Yo Amaranth, can you at least give us a link to these games, so that many can play it? :)

My bad! :P

I'm going to edit my previous post. Just a second!

Okay . . . mostly done. I can't find the page for Devil Theory at the moment. I believe it's on the RPG Maker VX forum, but the site won't load right now.
