Necroposting
« on: August 05, 2013, 04:44:07 AM »
I don't go on many diffrent forums that much (the Freebird forum is the first and only forum that I have an account for), I never really knew that much about 'necroposting', nor did I hear about it till recently, but I always knew it was bad to post on an old topic (At least now I can call it something). But despite the fact I know it's bad, I find myself doing it very often and I know that I will keep on doing it.

I know the Freebird community is very nice, ( ) but I find myself being paranoid about everyone (whether in Freebirdia or not).

Do the citizens of Freebirdia care if I post on old topics?

It seems to be an odd question, but I feel a bit insurcure....  :(

I personally don't think it's a big deal at all. Reviving old topics just makes the community more lively :3

Thanks, I was just a bit unsure about what the community of Freebird Games thought about Necroposting.
It's good to see I've stumbled apoun the land of immortal threads and topics.   :mimihat:

Might even go as far as to say it's in bad form to post on active threads. The dead ones are preferred. :p

I've always found the obsession with necroposting weird. Like... if you have something to say that relates to the same topic, why force people to start a new thread about the same topic? Doesn't that just clog stuff up?

It's good to see that people on the Freebird forums have more logic than some.

Yeah, well, that has never been the case here as far as I know? I don't know why, but it seems as if the FBG forums just attract sensible people? :D

As long as you don't flood the frontpage with floating corpses, go ahead.

In most cases I don't think it's unreasonable to post in old topics. Especially if the contents are timeless which usually is the case.

I mean, when someone asked in 2003 how to repair his computer because he accidentally trapped his cat between the hard disc drive and the CPU fan for two days and the whole thing overheated, and ten years later another person asks how to fix his screen in the same thread, it might have been better to make a new one. But usually you don't need to worry about posting in old threads. :)

This forum isn't big/active enough to be bothered by necroposting, anyway.

Yeah, well, that has never been the case here as far as I know? I don't know why, but it seems as if the FBG forums just attract sensible people? :D

I don't know if I go under the tier of "sensible"... :P

It's all just a matter of context~
