To the Moon - Technical / Re: Load Menu Crashing
« Last post by kayla7498 on July 18, 2019, 02:01:12 AM »
Oh, and I just realized why the corrupted save games came back, for future reference: Steam Cloud.  It keeps a backup of your save games, so you can move between krogerfeedback computers or reinstall and pick up right where you left off.  In this case, though, it backed up corrupt files, and then restored them with every reinstall.

Glad you got it fixed!

I'm just speculating. But from the looks of it something requires a version of some software at version 4.8 and it can only find 0.0 (menaing you don't have it?).

Check with the FAQ on the Finding Paradise technical section.  :music: :music: :music:
Darn, where is the boot? The big shiny one, for all the people who don't like the game and dare to post that here?
Naaaaaah, kidding. So this game is just not your cuppa. It happens!
It seems like you want to talk about it? Maybe figure out what didn't click for you when it did for others?
Before I start listing grievances with the game, I cannot stress enough that I know that this game is amazing. The art is wonderful (well, the pixel art, at least, the CGs seemed a bit amateurish to me, but that might be just me), the music is addictive and awesome (For River/To the Moon and the ending song were some personal favorites), and the writing is superb. Even though I didn't really feel invested in the characters, the aura of mystery the writer created absorbed me enough to convince me to continue. I wanted to know why River was making all those weird paper rabbits, what the significance of that hackysack scene was, why she was so obsessed with the lighthouse... and I can't deny that Gao tied them all together intelligently.

Furthermore, I absolutely love story-based games. They're hardly the only games I play, but I love them. I've played plenty of obscure free VNs (I don't have extra money to spend, so they're pretty much the only ones that I can play), some niche commercial VNs, the first episode of TWD (got to get back to it soon), Shadowrun: Dragonfall, and many more... and I'm about to play Life is Strange now. So, I'm definitely not one of those people for whom story-based games just don't click. Not that there's anything wrong with those kinds of people, of course, but, yeah, I'm not one of 'em. I thought that I would love To the Moon 'cause of how much I love narrative-driven games and how acclaimed it is, but, in the end, I didn't... from the first minute, I was pretty much just willing myself into soldiering onward, convincing myself that I would start liking it at some point. Might it be because of my current situation? I mean, with all the studying I have to do now, I have almost no time to play games, so I made the decision to just rush through my shortest good games (even though I'm poor, FreeGamesFindings is a great way to get some free games and raise a bit of money). Perhaps I didn't play To the Moon at the best time. Or it could be because of how much I hyped up the game. I've been looking for a long time for a game that could make me cry, and I was hoping that this could be the one... but it wasn't. I got to admit though, that scene where Johnny was losing all his memories of River was horribly sad though.

I never even played Skyrim and I don't intend to, but a few of the statements in this discussion make me go "huh?".
Like, that it's racist to have made-up races that have different traits kfc survey. Sounds like a game mechanism to me that is intended to give you a slightly different experience depending on what you play.

Thanks for the concern and nudge, oct. Don't worry, the boards are hidden for now for a different reason, and the project is the opposite of cancelled. :)

Haven't checked this forum for years, but quintessence is always lingering in my mind. It's a great great story with fun gameplay.
However, there seems to have no dedicated official quintessence sub-forum anymore; I can only hope you guys find the faith to finish this long waiting gem.
When you use alternative ver. during fullscreen you may had issue like some kind of black border or bars on the left and right side of the screen which is changed the screen resolution during fullscreen. I don't know if this going to work on you but, this one works for me.

Note: I don't know if this also going to work on A Bird Story or Finding Paradise since I don't own those game. Wish someone gift those to me.

How to fix this:
1. Before Run this game I want you to make sure to set this game using High Performance NVIDIA processor or so on Nvidia Control Panel. (IDK know what it's called if you using AMD since I never use their products).
2. Open and login to Steam.
3. Right click on To The Moon, then Select Properties.
4. Select Local Files tab, then select browse local file.
5. Open To the Moon folder.
6. Right Click on To the Moon.exe, then select properties.
7. Select compatibility tab.
8. Now I want you to Check Mark the Box which is say "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution"
9. Click "apply", then "OK"
10. Run the game. Enjoy.

Sorry for my bad english.
In-Development Indie/Homemade Games / Compendium of Cuteness by Happy Snake

Compendium of Cuteness is currently on kickstarter and has 3 days left as of me writing this. They are about exploring cute environments and looking for secrets. Author has made two other games on steam before called "Library" and "Rogo" . This game is not made by me. There is a demo for one of the 3 parts on kickstarter, and here is a trailer for it:

And also the kickstarter link for more info:
We are not really having a discussion because while it seems you think my arguments are invalid, or at least you don't say that you agree with them (both of which are totally fine, maybe there are good reasons), you don't give counterarguments.
