[*Note: Please do NOT delete the game folder after you finish, and check back to the thread a few days later.]

Lullaby is a short simple story that takes time during the holiday seasons. No tension, nothing epic, and barely any dialogues - It is a short story told through a complete cut-scene in the form of a semi-music video with its original soundtrack (hence please play with sound on only). The short story itself is non-interactive, and took about 10 times the effort of The Mirror Lied to make. It does perhaps start off a bit slow though, so my apologies, and please hang on.

Due to the shortness and nature of the project, I find it unfit to summarize the story and the like, as you can basically do it in one line and take the whole story away. So if you got a moment to spare, give it a try for what its size and length is worth - but after you finish, do not delete your game folder and check back a few days later.

Oh, just a note on the scene selector,
(https://freebirdgames.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffreebirdgames.com%2Fimages%2FScene_Sel.jpg&hash=a0de6c50dbf75c2e03ec535fb6959570)
Each scene will only become selectable once you've played through the respective scene once in normal sequence, so they won't work the first time you open it.

Anyhow, that's that.

Thank you very much for your time in advance, and hope you guys are having a fun holiday season!

Interesting style to do a "minimovie" in.  It meshes well.

Heheh, I am working on a "Director's Commentary" at the moment for kicks. :P The password given at the credit is actually for that, but it's not even done yet.

Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful! The way you told the story without many words, but you still knew what was going on, was ingenious. And you told the story well with amazing graphics and music. Everything meshed incredibly well. The ending was expected, but that just made the moment a lot better because you can see where it's going to lead.

Wow, I would rate this project 5 out of 5 stars.

This piece was perfect in every way. Something an RMXP mini movie should be.

Spoiler: show

This was the first game of this kind I played – if I can call it a game. I did not even see a movie like this.
Do You Remember My Lullaby is a very special interactive show. There was nothing epic, it was a day in the life of a normal person.
You told a story without many words. This story could have been a written short story. It is not, this is better.
You managed to create emotions by telling a short story in a beautiful way with wonderful music.
I can just repeat whot others said: Everything meshed perfectly well.
Thank you for this wonderful, short story.

I’m curious about the family names and the password.

Thanks Squall, glad ya enjoyed it. And aye, I wanted to show something that is very insignificant and every-day-esque, yet is often missed by many during the holiday seasons when most are being bombarded with cheers.

The password is actually for a very detailed Director's Commentary that's coming in the near future.

As for the family name files. . . You'll see. c: Just check back when I announce something about it.

P.S.
If anyone finds out about it, feel free to brag here, but don't say what it is or how to get to it. ;)

Ah sure, thanks in advance then. The MYSTERIOUS THINGS they are talking about are actually files generated after you play through the game once (or as you play through it). They have two purposes; one is as a indicator of how far you've watched, for the scene selector to activate.

And the other. . . ;) If anyone finds out before I tell of it, please don't spoil - you can brag that you found out but that's it!

Edit: Oh and the website is actually quintessence-tbv.com/Lullaby.html  <-forgot to add the .html on the thing. :x Ugh

Again, congratulations for this superb and unique project! It will be quite a competiton indeed (although I wouldn't feel bad loosing to that ).

Thanks very much for the constructive feedback Zeka!!  Much much appreciated.

Aye, I probably should have went with auto-message disappearing after all. I kind of flipped a coin on that heheh, since I didn't want it to go too fast or too slow for people, but I think that shouldn't really be a problem. The room where the mother's bed is in isn't really a bedroom, it's just the basement, where those things are in (I think that's what you are referring to). And aye, I agree with the flash back thing, I had some trouble with their distinction. Should've probably made it darker overall on top of the black and white thing.

***
As a thanks for the constructive feedbacks, I'll be PMing Zeka and Squall the mystery info now! ;)

Very nice initial build-up of the story, at least to me./me started feeling the sad atmosphere just after the start of scene two.

And just got the password, but has no idea what to do with it >_>

If anyone finds out about it, feel free to brag here, but don't say what it is or how to get to it. ;)

I'm here to brag!
It wasn't too hard to find out once I read (about 2 minutes ago ) that we can find it out ourselves.
But I have to say it's really great, I didn't expect anything like that.

I won't say anything more, find it yourselves, people! ;)

o.0...just recalled a minor error btw. during the start-up(I think), it says, "A short by" followed by Reives. lolx. shouldn't it be "A short -insert something- by"?
is it because you have no idea what to call it?

Pathbinder: about the bugs you showed, in my opinion most of them are correct in English and do not need correction. They can be either way, depending on the way of people speaking. But that's only my personal opinion (although I'm not that bad in English).

Here comes my review of the game:

Spoiler: Review • show
Generally I really loved it, it has a tone of gloom which I like the best in all the stories. I may be weird, but I prefer sad endings to happy ones. ^^" I immediately noticed that the main characters (as for the woman, the boy and the father) had no faces. At first it was kinda confusing, but I think I discovered its meaning... only I can't tell, it's just a feeling :D
(sorry, if I'm rather meaningless... I just returned from Vienna... it was fun, but it was raining almost the whole day, and I caught a fine little cold... so now I'm not really good at using my brain properly... I'm rather concentrating on my headache... XD)

Good points:
 - the graphics were awesome ^^
 - the way you made the woman not to speak caused the impression that her thoughts were the most important of all (I could never do that... - right, right, it starts at the point that I couldn't even make a game... but still :D )
 - I liked the changing of screens, especially at the end where the memories and everything apart from the woman's waiting were shut into sepias
 - those automatic saving slots - you know, you could use them in Quintessence too, hm? that way, you wouldn't have to bother making more saving slots, and we could watch over the important scenes whenever we want. (Or... is putting these in more difficult than making the normal saving slots? I'm a real analphabetic in this, sorry... ^^")
 - the way of the story itself developing - you made it difficult to understand at first (maybe because of the mother's silence... or just my foolishness :D )

Not-so-good points:
...
...
...
damn... I can't think of any... maybe if I played second time, I could... but what's the point in giving you criticism just to be constructive? Others may be, I'm now just simply amazed, let it be at that ;D

It's a short movie. If it had voice acting it would be acceptable for sure.

Animated Indie movies usually only run like 5 minutes anyway. And it has the feeling of an indie movie.

ah, just wached it Reives! good work there - luv the lighting effects and color shifts for the atmosphere! much to learn from you old man ;D the sounds aren't bad either - and of caurse your theme. the end was surprisingly sudden though,
Spoiler: show
kinda unexpected. it as if it just "stopped" - quite tough but not a bad effect. - leaves the watcher /audience with his thoughts so far.
  :whaaa?:

oh and i liked how the main characters have no face- again.. XD

Spoiler: show
just after she made the cake, the mother had a happy face XD - nice touch.

Hey ey Koon, thanks for watching. c: Yeah, I was thinking about the sudden stop too when I was making that last bit, heheh. Kind of a sudden halt when the nightfall comes after the relatively fast-paced segment. The only other instance where they had faces was in the old picture hanging on the wall. :p Different reasons for the lack of face compared to TML though!

Did you open the folder where you extracted it? the file is a package, it extracts the game to the folder you selected, and then you go there to execute the actual application.

Hey there. The name's Danthe. I just made a showcasing of Do You Remember My Lullaby?, and I hope you guys will enjoy it. It's made a bit like a TV series, where every episode is around 7 minutes long. In the start of every episode I've also made a little recap of the previous episode. I hope you'll enjoy it, since this game/visual novel is very dear to me, but if you don't, don't be afraid of telling me what you think. I prefer negative response rather than no response at all, since that is how one can improve.
Have a nice day.

Please Note: This is an unofficial port, therefore it may have several bugs, you can contact me about them and I will try my best to help, but please note that this port is not officially made or supported by Freebird Games.
This game has been tested on OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 & 10.9.
Last but not least, this port is for 64-bit (x86_64) machines only, any mac with Intel Core2Duo or later is 64-bit, if your Mac runs Mac OS X Lion or later then you have a 64-bit Mac!

Instructions:
- Download "Do You Remember My Lullaby.dmg" from here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rhyd4n37cise2te/Do You Remember My Lullaby.dmg (https://www.dropbox.com/s/rhyd4n37cise2te/Do%20You%20Remember%20My%20Lullaby.dmg)
- Mount the dmg file by double clicking it.
- From the new window that appears, drag "Do You Remember My Lullaby" to your Applications folder, or any other path you like.
- Open the "Do You Remember My Lullaby"!
- When it asks about the Full Screen, choose No.

Troubleshooting:
- If you get warnings that this app is from an unidentified developer, this means you have OS X GateKeeper turned on. You can allow running of this particular game by Right clicking on the "Do You Remember My Lullaby", then clicking on the "Open" from the menu.

- You can close the game with the usual Command-Q shortcut.

- If you have problems with the Full Screen, Right click on "Do You Remember My Lullaby", browse to Contents>Resources>bin , open the mkxp.conf with a text editor, change "fullscreen=true" to "fullscreen=false" and save the file.

- If mkxp.conf  is not modifiable, you are modifying the one that is on the read-only dmg file, modify the copy you made to your Applications folder.

- If the game does not start, please try running Contents/MacOS/lullaby in the Terminal and give me the output.

Other Mac ports:
- To The Moon has an official Mac port on Steam, that port is not made by me so expect it to be more stable (:P) and it should work on 32-bit Macs too:

I have made unofficial Mac/Linux compatible versions of Spanish and Italian translations of To The Moon so far, you can ask for them or request other languages via Private Message.

Hoping and praying that somebody reads this...
Hello, I was wondering if anyone (maybe even Reives himself) could help me out. I just finished D.Y.R.M. Lullaby (like an hour and a half ago now) and jumped online to see what the password did. When I learned of the extensive commentary I got really excited, but I haven't been able to find it online anywhere.
Apparently it was originally here http://quintessence-tbv.com/Lullaby.html (http://quintessence-tbv.com/Lullaby.html) nut I've noticed that that domain is no longer owned... by anyone. Does anyone know where else I might be able to track it to or maybe you've already downloaded it and would be willing to share it with me?
Thanks a million and a half in advance (and I'm sorry for this message being so long to ask such a simple question but I kind of really like writing so kindofnotreallysorryaswell  XD :P),
Anthony  :Evapple: :deepstuff:
