Now you see, I would attempt to translate if I didn't suck so much at reading.

Here's my translation for OP..

Title of thread says, "On behalf of China gamers (presumably of ttm), salute to author of game! This is a grand/epic masterpiece!".

Message says:
"Looking forward to a sequel.
This game is currently being pirated in China.
If the game author desires for a change in the situation,
he is willing to offer legal support services in China, as the author's partner".

In OP nx post:
"We have here (refers to link) chinese translated versions of the game, which are of course, pirated".

Lastly, OP's name implies fleshy/meaty, or lots of meat.
edit: Literally, quite a lot of meat
Usually used to describe plump or fatty, on people or food, not so much in the negative sense.

I kinda guessed the meaty part based on 多肉 but I just couldn't read the first word lol. Nice translation 10damage!

Also, I bet some people will look at this thread and be like "Whaaaat?"
Some people's comps can't read chinese apparently (lol)

i am quite keen to see the chinese version actually.
could turn out to be quite funny..
title of game be "去月亮"?
John=约翰 (common eng-chi translation), River would be literally "河".

It's interesting that the pirates also have done a translation of the game (it's in Chinese, isn't it?) and apparently it's good enough to obtain a 9.7 rating on that site.

Just went to the verycd site, many commented how impressed they were with the story, presentation, music - that it would be hollywood standard which is surprising from such a small developer (apparently they researched). Also compared to the highly famous chinese fantasy story “仙剑” (fairy sword in short).
Shorter comments - Touching story, left teary, if only it was in the form of book, potential of games (in general), big american flim, worthy reference and subject of study, evoked emotional experience that far surpass what could be achieved by modern visual effects, best story ever..

Feeling lazy, but anyway, here goes translation for OP's 3rd post.
A conservative estimate of number who have played the game would run into a few thousands.
Those who have played, appraised it highly-surprised at the impressive script and music.
I personally believe the author ought to receive his due credits,
and with these (presumably credits in monetary terms), develop/publish better works.
I have always believed that people who can produce work of such standard may lack only financing. (Never creativity)
Here i congratulate in advance, that the author would make a great name (literally a name known to every household) for himself amidst the China population through a series of impressive works.
In China, masterpiece are much sought after, as a purchased collection. (piracy only stands for products perceived as merely good-to-have, fine to do without)
I reckon the author release the official chinese version of the game and push it into sales asap via the existing channel of sales online.
So long the author is determined and act fast, i believe everything abt TTM would be generally better.
蛮多肉: Implies baby-fat cuteness, a term that leaves much imaginative space, is a humourous, cute and sexy ID.

Heya guys. Aye, I do hope to do something like this eventually, though need to do some research on how to get started first. :) Glad that there's an interest! I'm also pleasantly surprised that the game was taken well there despite being only in English at first.

Been directed to here from Chinese forum. There are quite numbers of people talking about OP among Chinese communities. It's rare to see someone post this kind of topic in English game official forum, espeically after Reives post a message at VeryCD.

Tried downloading the Chinese version. It's buggy. I can't see any text at all. All the boxes are empty S: Funnily enough, nobody seems to be having this problem in the Chinese forums.

I don't think Chinese words work on the English version of RMXP (because I just tried typing hello in Chinese into RMXP. Didn't display). Not sure if it would work w/the regular version.

Well When I wanted to read chinese/japanese text I needed to install language packs for chinese japanese etc. But now still I have one missing and dunno which one, because sometimes it shows me blank squares instead of letters. My point is maybe you should try to install chinese language pack you can find maybe that could help. Not everything is unicode encoding and not every PC have all of Unicode library. ;)

Title: Re: 代表中国玩家,向作者致敬!这是一代神作!
Post by: mepwnn on February 26, 2012, 09:45:21 PM
That shouldn't be the case. I think it's more a problem w/RMXP (english version anyways) being unable to use Chinese (or Japanese for that matter >_<). So unless there are suddenly language packs for RMXP, then it shouldn't be that
Title: Re: 代表中国玩家,向作者致敬!这是一代神作!
Post by: Ruben on February 27, 2012, 10:34:38 AM
You don't need to have any version of the RMXP on your computer, the game should run in any case. Just because it is the Chinese version of the game, it does not mean you need the Chinese RMXP. All the necessary data is stored in the Game.exe (and the other folders of the game foldr), not in external program files.

It does indeed seem to be a problem with your computer. I also often get Error Message when trying to run Japanese games or programs (non-RM), even though my computer can display East Asian characters without any problem. I have not yet found out how to solve it. Some people recommend changing the system language or region, but that didn't change anything for me.

《去月球》更新日志:

2012.1.17

解决某些系统下无法显示中文的问题,游戏包内内置了汉化使用到的黑体。大部分系统不存在这一问题。

For the older version of the game in chinese, you need a font that is only in the chinese version of windows(simhei.ttf). In the version after 2012.1.17, the font will be put into your system during the installation process.
Just saying. You can try to download the nearest version to fix this issue. It also made some part of the translation better.

Some games translated fonts might work if you change the default keyboard and the localisation...don't know about this one, but then again you can try applocale (which will be really weird as you are localising something which is originally in english anyway...)

Nice to see fellow Asians appreciating the game too! I agree with you - it really is wonderous, top quality work. (: (Then again...not all of the forumers can read chinese.)

is there any decided plan about when ep2 is coming out?
I did some research on forum posts but didn't find such. Maybe I missed something.

Translation for this:
"Anyone interested in translating QTBV into Chinese? In fact I prefer this game, the story is moving as well. If you have such plan, count me in."

Well, I also prefer QTBV to TTM. As far as I know, QTBV doesn't have any piracy in China(don't know why...).
My friends appreciate TTM(CHN Ver) very much, but they tremble before English text...so few know QTBV...
I guess another reason is that story of QTBV hasn't finished yet, no team wants to keep an eye on it.(It's been 6 years...right?)
Hope Reives can read this.

Would pirating a free game actually be pirating it or would it just be distributing it?? Unless even if free distribution without permission is piracy. I don't know.

I presume that there is not much piracy of it in China because it is an unfinished game which overall, I presume, has a lot of text to translate. So to most people who would create pirate copies it may not be seen to be worth the effort, because even if they finish they still would not have the complete .game

I think the amount of text of QTBV that would be translated to Chinese in comparable to that of a Visual novel.

This interests me...

I'd have to say that it is. A lot of companies thrive on the revenue that internet traffic brings. If you download it from somewhere else then their own website won't get the traffic, and advertisers would be less interested, etc. I don't know the rules though.  :platquack:
