Title: Here Goes Nothing
Post by: Phoebe on January 29, 2012, 05:16:30 AM
Blast it, I am terrible with introductions...

... Hello; I'm Phoebe considering my alias is directly across from this message, it would be horribly redundant to include it here, so I'll trust your sense of sight on this occasion. I'm not particularly picky with nicknames, so if for some odd reason Phoebe just doesn't work out well, call me whatever you please – it genuinely does not matter to me.

I spend approximately ninety-five percent of my free time reading, attempting to write, or wasting killing time through video games. The remaining five percent is occasionally spent outdoors, although that's out of question at the moment considering I detest snow, and we have a bit too much of that over here for my liking.

I also enjoy music (but that's a bit of a universal interest, so I don't quite see the point in mentioning it). Especially Kan's, mind you. I've had the music-box version of Envy on repeat for... I don't know, some ungodly amount of time. It's a wonder my hearing hasn't caved by now.

The games that lead me here are Quintessence and To the Moon, though I certainly can't deny that I enjoyed Do You Remember My Lullaby and The Mirror Lied, as well. I shall be waiting anxiously for the next installments of the first two.

That is all.

... perhaps I shouldn't have written this at 3:11 in the morning.

Hey, nice to meet you, Phoebe! Hope you like it here!

... perhaps I shouldn't have put a strike through this line.

Weeelcome!

I agree with Vasha, except for the snow. We don’t have snow that often in France (nothing yet this winter, actually), so I enjoy it when it comes. Even if it’s annoying, with buses and stuff. Anyway, I hope you’ll have a good time here :)

You'd hate it, too, if you had to put up with five or more feet of it each winter.

Welcome, you. Yea, I pretty much hate snow, too. Way too cold for my liking.

... Wow... That's nice... I'm a scandinavian and I hate snow and cold. That's quite the problem.

Whaa–? Snow is the most beautiful thing there is! Here in Germany, we haven't had real snow this winter so far (at least not where I live), but I hope I'll see some decent snow soon. I figured that it serves as valuabe inspiration for the winter-narration-fantasy-fairytale-ish story I am currently working on!

Anyway, it's always awesome to the other people who appreciate Quintessence and To The Moon, so I'm glad to have you here. Cool you liked Envy – I used to listen to it a lot! But my favorite piece by Kan is Song of Bells, so if you haven't really listened to it, you might wanna give it a shot.

 :)

Hello :) My dog's called Phoebe.
But I call her Furby.
Cause Furbys are awesome.
So you can be called Phoebe.

It's been a big day.  :reivsweat:

I hope it has an English translation! I didn't even know you were a hobby writer.

It's more of a Visual Novel, actually. Beautiful background pictures I found on deviantart and other awesome sites, awesome music from free sources, and text. That's about it. No character pictures, choices or other kind of interactivity whatsoever. About twenty minutes so far, but I haven't worked on it since December.

I haven't thought too much about the story, either. It is about an old man telling his life retrospectively, starting from the day he chose to leave his entire past behind and leave his home to go on an everlasting journey. When he wakes up that morning, he realizes that it has snowed a lot in the night, and the entire landscape is covered with snow.
He leaves his home, without looking back, and that's how the story begins.

So, basically I have the freedom to use all the ideas I want to use. :)

Maybe I will translate it into English once I have progressed a bit further. Not going to publish it for public, though, since I don't even know where all those awesome pictures I "borrowed" are from. ^^

I suppose it isn't the snow itself that I dislike, but the cold it brings with it. I've just gotten so used to associating it with the horrible weather we get throughout winter that it's become a habit to just write it all off as the snow's fault.

Heh, I can relate. Before I came to Canada I loved snow without restraint. I guess there can be too much of a good thing after all. . . Way too much.

P.S. Yay, a fellow Canadian! *high five*

The Snow Yetis and Ice Dragons can also be troublesome.

It depends on the situation. Sure, they're great if they aren't bothering you and you aren't bothering them, but otherwise...

That's why I keep a cooler of beer nearby. See a yeti, toss it a beer. Friends for life.

... wouldn't intoxicating the thing just worsen the situation?

It's a little-known fact that yetis are happy drunks, not angry drunks.

But drunk all the same, and that alone is a bit more than terrifying.

Truth. Just don't let them drive.

Are you implying that you would allow a yeti to drive even when sober?

Come on you guys don't you know Drinking makes everything better?

Including yetis.
