 The new Logo is up on the 1st page . . . along with quite new screenshots & a link to the Opening in youtube.

:-\ Note: The Opening looks better ingame, youtube killed it's quality & the Opening itself is subject to have "Different" pictures/scenes.

 And there's no date schedule for a release, since everytime I do so, something happens in a way of stopping me from uploading. I'll release the beta when the times comes & when I feel it's ready for the public.

::) & I fix the grammatical errors too btw.

:) And here's and update from RMRK itself, These Features are still, well, not Final yet . . . but I might be inclined to add them:

Quote from: RMRK
:x On news: Due to laziness & well, trouble making the resources & such, I might limit the exploration on Towns & Certain Areas, Instead, the player will go on a separated Windows of the location he is & chooses the area he/she wants to visit, think of it like . . . Ar Tonelico & (if you've been paying attention to Ming's updates) Celestias Ferrum.

Also, the gameplay might be <sigh> limited in some puzzles & mini-games due to said system & if you're the type of person who despises long talks . . . . Soul Reaver may not be for you, The game now uses a similar Visual Novel-like scenes, where the player's decision affects the party's thoughts on the main character, not to mention it also affects the Player's Partner/Heroine, most of the scenes, will (not final) look like a Visual Novel's system ingame. (Mainly because I'd have to edit sprites for many expressions & it gets tiring working over & over again).

Also, 2 new features to be added (probably, I'm still thinking) would be the so called "Topic" Event & the . . . well, "Dream World" Events.
These two work similar, but in a different way >:x

The "Topic" Event system is just an average conversation, in which the player interacts with one of the Characters from his/her party by looking up for "Topics" like items around the world, these events will only be unlocked either in a savepoint camping, Town Inn or Headquarters, these little events, althou some might be . . . (to you guys) boring, they actually raise the chances of your little heroines to fall for you & to even unlock those porn scenes which I know you all want and love the most. :p Can't let you guys have those scenes that easily, which comes Part 2:

The "Dream World" systems, takes more of the "Visual Novel" Concept, the player chooses one of the Heroines and both go in a "Role-Playing-Like-Game", ;3 With each raising that Girl's value to the Main Character even higher, not to mention some skills can only be obtain from this events. :x Unfortunately, it requires a certain Value or "Trust" towards that specific heroine to go "deeper" into each episode. Althou it sounds like boring, the "Dream World" actually creates a different storyline that has nothing to do with the main one, so you don't have to worry about missing details, since I realize that you will all start to panic if something from one girl's dream world is discussed & the player gets lost. (lol). One can obtain from this Events New Skills, Weapons, Armors & Items and the chance to strengthen the bond between the Main Character & the Player's selected Heroine (& your precious "scenes" ;P).

Also note, that once the game is release, there are also some NPCs which you can also activate these Topics & Dream World Events & get your precious Scenes too, but your gonna have to be careful as it can . . . quite get your partner (depending thou) quite angry >__>;; & lower her value.

Also, what does this mean? Simple: You don't have to worry about been caught playing Soul Reaver & suddenly one of those "Scenes" comes out, you'll have to make a lot of work if you want those scenes.

:| Well, I guess that's that for what's planned & to also find & capture Ming when I see him, that is, when he's free thou . . . <__<||||

:x Ah, also, soon I'll have a steady "storyline" & the characters up there with new userbars for support :| along with *finally* the website itself.

::) I had been working on it, seems you didn't check rmrk.

I haven't updated because I don't think remaking maps would be such a big update, specially since it hasn't even been release.

 I rather not speak about the menu incident, I took it down, so, not going to bother updating unless I see it fit.

I do java/C and stuff since I'm in a partially comp sci program, but it just feels like such a chore to start picking up RGSS no matter how easy it may be. :'( It's like getting up in the morning - just one step and you're awake, yet you just don't want to bother getting up.

Haha. Well, it doesn't really take that long. Besides, you have a help file entirely based on the system to spell it all out for you :P

In the end, this sounds just like me wanting to draw... it never happens

You know, I knew a RL couple who were married and hanged around on forums and games who made comments like those a while back; it was pretty sweet. But this is just creepy. :P

Start derailing project threads, go back to Chatter Spot for it - Shoo shoo! *Chases with a flyswapper*

Umm, after playing quintessence new version . . . the intro gave me a little idea.

 I have to think more on changes & what not, the map is bland, and all I want is recreate a temple that has roots as walls & coming out of the tile & somewhat some of the floor is just floating.

Something like these two images:

That looks really nice O.o might I suggest in the first map though you have a little bit many pillars? Maybe take 2 or 4 down?

Looks amazing!

Yeah, imo you should take away the four pillars right under the left and right walls. Also take away the two smaller pillars at the top. Otherwise, the six pillars at the bottom can stay there

I might remake it later. I want it to be as close as the images as the scenes takes lace in the time of long boring conversations or such to keep at least the player entertained & the difference won't be notice much *hopefully*

::) As it is now, you can notice the gap there is in there . . . when the scene changes, it will 'cause visual problems.

This is what I mean:

Spoiler: Change to Visual Novel Like Scene • show

*I'll be taking care of those pillars right away*

Example of the New little Add-ons I'm working, taking out the branches of the Lifeless RTP Trees. If you know you can do it and the results will be good I would probably have done the same. But me editing sprites = Mass rotation and scaling = Fail quality :P

Spriting & recoloring, is patience, I technically don't have it, but determination & desire allows me to have patience.

I know the branches overlap the shade, and that window message is still buggy.

 The Temple needs more editing, at least have a cube-like shape those walls needs, I'll get back to work since I am late for class.

;D A Preview for all you good citizens.

Can ask you, what other aspects are going to be in the game besides playing through the story and sweet ass graphics?

Such as mini-games, side quest, and creation systems?
Title: Re: Soul Reaver 1: The Nocturne Gospel
Post by: Caro Ru Lushe on October 16, 2008, 10:34:09 PM
:-\ I have trouble on the mini-game department. (lol), Few puzzles I have, *The old moving stone on switches* The Sim dating system itself, & the "Dream World" which Klyron 'Role plays' around in a separated storyline with the girl of his/her choice. There are some secrets around the world itself, they just have to be found, others require a certain level of affection towards a certain character to appear & Battles aren't quite easy. The story takes quite an interesting turn itself, that is all I can answer Sizzle.

.____. Just as much as I make mock-ups of animations as ideas such as this ones:

Ok, so a Few Updates:

I'm debating between two CBS, the Old one that's on the first post preview, & this One:

(https://freebirdgames.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg413.imageshack.us%2Fimg413%2F1964%2Fwcdcdwlb2.png&hash=670628df03a8673297b3be6de1cd2021) (http://imageshack.us)

CTB by Charlie Lee . . . .

Has a feel of Final Fantasy to it with some features, but I'm still thinking of whether putting it or not.  ::) I would most likely won't put it until I know it's not 'private'.

Next Update:

Ending Theme song for each Arc Ending has been chosen, and 'old' favorite of mines. (There was a debate between 'Rasuto Kissu?', 'Be your girl', 'Sociometry' & 'Deep Forest')

Song: "ラストキッス, Rasuto Kissu? (Last Kiss)"
Lyrics and Composition by: Tsunku
Arrangement by: Takao Konishi
Performed by: Tanpopo
From: 1st Ending theme from Sorcerer Stabber Orphen

*Obligatory Link with the Song*

Lyrics:
http://www.animelyrics.com/Anime/orphen/maolk.htm

----------------------------------------------------

Next Update:

New Custom Tilesets are coming along, Remakes & changes to most of it.

(https://freebirdgames.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg207.imageshack.us%2Fimg207%2F4899%2F667ju3uc9.jpg&hash=565baa69ad884537b158866433d453d7) (http://imageshack.us)

Thanks to Sithlord999 for lending his time to work on these customs.

----------------------------------------------------

Animation Work:

I never got to show what the Animation of the spells look like in-battle.
The more I play around with photoshop, the more ideas I get:

(https://freebirdgames.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg384.imageshack.us%2Fimg384%2F7810%2F90ui2ewlg3.png&hash=52a476b10344bcc02dbf4218d3a16be6) (http://imageshack.us)

One of many spells (Mock-up, not official) to make an appearance in SR.

Yet again, credits for Sithlord999 for ripping the graphics themselves ^^;;

------------------------------------------------------------------

Animated Title Screen has been added, thanks to Ming :x for putting it together, Hanzo for the Title Logo, & Seth for the graphics (Even thou I had to look for somewhere else for the start & load buttons >__>;;)

(https://freebirdgames.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg528.imageshack.us%2Fimg528%2F8928%2Fsoulreavertitleua0.jpg&hash=8c0e24a035e17c32af0ff72fa60807bf) (http://imageshack.us)

Also, Falcon for teaching me scripting & advices, since I found out that whenever I got out of the Load_scene, it got me back to the RMXP Title Screen & not the evented one.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Songs from Seinarukana ~ The Spirit Sword of Eternity 2 has been added, ripped & format changed by Sithlord999. ._. Yet again, I must repay him for all he has done. <shiver>

------------------------------------------------------------------

& Finally:

Update & Remaked the Old Sprites into this, even thou in my last post where both Lloid & Noah (Shinary), here's half the new base of the cast:

(https://freebirdgames.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg407.imageshack.us%2Fimg407%2F5898%2Fsrcharacterbasejx7.png&hash=42b032d9b4416a684e88030c0b050470) (http://imageshack.us)

Main characters that is . . . They will also have their poses, to give a more realistic kinda feel in the in-game graphics (not on the Visual Novel Scenes).

------------------------------------------------------------------

& There's still no Deadline for a beta yet :-\ *cough*

@Sizzle: Sithlord999, maker of the RPG Game "Dark Horizon". .__. I should repay him for his help.

-----------

I forgot to add the 2 only fanarts .___.;;; added to the first post, thou they are "BIG"

Nice and sith and ming seem to be doing well, (Still got to play Dark Horizon). Also I was so sure that the FFX script(s) were free for use, though it was on rmxp.org when I saw it like some months ago. Personally I think the FFX one is to much of a hassle to get to work sometimes :P.

[edit - below]

I came along his script twice and read it.
"Introduction.
Hi all. This is a custom FFX-like battle system. It includes summons, individual battle commands and many other features. It also includes my Skills Learning System, that is modeled after the one in FF IX and is optional. You can easily disable the SLS by removing the corresponding script.
I hope you will enjoy it, and I invite you to report bugs and give comments, suggestions..."

Quick one at that, Roots been used. I'll probably make variation set of floating platforms with a lot of Roots but as Character-sets. Mostly to make them move around.

jyjy! Even though the art's from Seinarukana(I really got a shock at first), but still, it rocks.
and I was kinda amazed at where the story ideas came from. alot of them were stuff I knew so I kinda have a rough feeling that whatever comes out will be within my expectations, but it'd be fun to see how the mixture of ideas will end up.

and I put the label thing on my sig =3

Photon Cannon, easily the most kick ass spell I have seen in rpgmaker in...well forever. haha.
Though the battle background, looks well weird when compared with the battlers and spells.

Gundam 00 for the solar tower thing, Chrome Shelled Regios(also called Regios/Koukaku no Regios) for the 'Kei' thing.
Regios is a new anime that's still on-going, can be downloaded from Ayako fansubs(.avi ver.). Personally I like that anime a lot(Jan '09 anime release)

and, just checked the 70sec preview out, very nice, except that I kinda felt that near the end of that preview where it shows all the chars, that shadow-y part is a little too short. and pretty great effect with the song. Though, was amazed that even the lyrics was put in.

You know, the atmosphere and the screenshots of the beginning remind me very much of Dark Eternal II, which is an RMXP game made by Zenogias. Reives has played it before; I saw a comment of his on one the threads. Other than that, this project seems to be coming along very well, although I still can't believe it won the "Project of the Month" award on RMXP.org without a demo.  :o

That's what I meant.  Not the WHOLE Game.
And that is what I meant as well.  Plenty of projects get demo releases, yes, but when the demo is given a release date, the release date is moved back and/or removed altogether, and the author makes a mysterious disapearance, than it is pretty safe to assume that the project is dead.

It was going to fail anyway though, and this was obvious a while back: most of the posts and the majority of the appeal was over custom graphics (most of which were rips or from other authors), the author switched the battle system around so much it wasn't even funny, and information about gameplay mechanics were mysteriously nonexistant.  I remember there used to be some info about some very generic and horrid gameplay ideas (presented in engrish to end all engrish), and when this was critiqued by a veteran (developer of The Blue Star, I think) the post was followed by another member post "good graphix", and that inconsistency there sums up the game as a whole pretty well.  Never really understood the appeal for this game in the first place, honestly, but whatever.

. . .

Well, heh, I didn't mean to make this post that long.  Back to lurking!

You should check these out. It kinda seems to me that the creator of the game somehow got your sprites.
Or were you the one who made the game? I wanted to show you these in case you havent seen them, cuz of the similarity that both of you are using CGs from The Eternal Blade 2.(Sorry for necropost) I stumbled upon them when I was looking for help on getting Minkoff's battlescript to work. I used to thought that they were from you.
