Title: Freebird Games Wiki
Post by: Stardale on March 30, 2010, 08:52:46 AM
Hi everyone!

I passed through some wikis throughout the internet, such as that from GTA, Aveyond, and more. I was just thinking, if these big games have wikis, then why can't we? As a result of which, I created the wiki for Freebird Games. At the moment, I'm making details for TML and DYRML. So, I'll need your help. ^^ Before inputting details about the members, the multis, etc., we should go first to the main things we can see on the site.

Here is the link: http://freebirdia.wikia.com

As much as possible, don't copy-pasta. :D We'll still follow Wikipedia standards, only we're all a little lenient.  ^^

Paraphrased version:
"A dying old guy wants to go to the moon. Some science dude/dudette are like 'Okay! Here's a fake memory!' The old guy dies, thinking he went to the moon and the science dude/dudette gets ca$h flo."

Let's try and keep the wiki relative to things that will be useful. Particularly in bringing in new members.

BTW, sticky.

The ff. are needed to complete the first phase of this project:

1. Create new articles related to Q-TBV, TML, and other games made by Freebird Games. Make sure that these articles do not exist at the moment. If possible, complete them. (Try adding pictures).

2. Assign ALL EXISTING articles into its respective categories.

Please do not create forum related articles yet, such as the Double accounts, forum members, etc. That's not what our priority is at the moment.

This first phase should be finished by December 24.

Is that character list going to go onto the quintessence page directly? It would probably be better to have the main characters on the page, and then a link to a new page with the major and minor characters. That's how they do it in the real wiki, and it would help with trying to scroll through the page (cuz that's a lot of characters)

Just one thing about "copypasta," guys:  It is not necessarily bad to make a reference to someone else's exact words, as long as you do it properly.  You can use reference and citation styles such as MLA's or APA's, and of course, paraphrase; but paraphrasing still has its rules.

I am going to recommend the following resources:

Hope that helps.

For citation, I'm going to be strict with this. Please use the American Psychological Association Standards/APA.

Reminders:
1. Alphabetize.
2. Two or more by the same author: Arrange from oldest to recent.
3. same year: 1991a, 1991b

Format sample:

Central Intelligence. (2000).
             Bosnia and Herzegovina
              World Factbook Retrieved
             October 31, 2000, from the

I just made a category named List of Quintessence protagonists, and I added everyone that's on the protagonist list here in the quote (except for Lunair who doesn't have a page yet, and I was lazy to make an empty page just for that).
And I also wrote the full article on Alden. Someone please proofread it, I hope it fits.

Great idea!

In fact, I've already started to write about Quintessence in a wiki kind of way. Nearly through with the general introduction now, and covered the first chapter completely. Just have to post it to Reives to see if he like that.

And by the way... Hi, I'm new here!  :)
