This game reached into my heart like no other one could, in fact, I don’t think any other game has really left me feeling this way. It not only brought a new type of gaming into the video game industry, but it also captured the same emotions as that of a movie, a poem, or a song. The game changed me, and got me to cherish every memory despite the fact that all of Johnny’s memories were simulated in a video game, it did give me new outlook on life in a different way other than lectures and stories. I hope to see a sequel that is just as magical, touching, and well-thought-out as this one.
Thank you for this game Kan, you really reached into the hearts of the people in a truly unique way that no one expects – through video gaming. Keep it up.
I can say that i am a truly man…but, I cant stop my tear out from my eyes 😛 I love this game story and their ending too.. This game are my fav game now… I keep play it after end 3 times…hehe
Arigato for the game Kan Gao…and sorry because my bad English 😛

Phenomenal. Laura Shigihara’s voice is beautiful and pulls my heartstrings every time I listen to the 2nd part of the trailer theme from the soundtrack.
The storyline in this game is well crafted and also draws emotion. And the pixel designs are wonderfully done and expresses the SNES nostalgia that I know and love. If this was a console game, I would totally buy it and just keep it in a presentable place in my home next to a photo of my mother and father…
I am a burly guy, working as a manager for a big company. But I shed tears playing this game. The story is wonderful, the music is so emotional. Thank you Freebird for such a touching journey…will be waiting for the next installments
And yeah, thanks to Steam too, otherwise I would have missed out on this

Definitely my favourite scene from the game.
Również, thank you for the game. It is beyond wonderful and I was moved to tears multiple times during my playthrough. It really is a wonderful story.
Oh my God…this game is really touching…It’s one of my favorite indie games, you guys really made me fell happy and sad,at the same time.I can just say the game is amazing, and beautiful….
Thanks Kan Gao,you really made me cry for happiness and joy… \( ; w;)/
I played through the game and for someone like me, who has problems showing emotions, doesn’t cry or react emotionally to many situations, this story had me in tears repeatedly, and even made me laugh out loud through those tears. The music calms me in such a way that I bought the soundtrack so I would never get sick of it. I can’t wait for the next installment.

I just wanna say, playing this game has really made me think a lot about the possibilities of life and how small changes can create big things. The concept and idea of this game is very original and heartfelt, and it is one of my favorite games of all time. I want to thank you guys for being able to draw these emotions and thoughts out from all of the To the Moon community and fans, and I hope that you make an episode two for all of us, so that we can experience all of this over again. Thank you so much, and I hope to see more of your work in the future. I’ll see you at the far end of the sky…
This game was beautiful, touching and just, I absolutely loved it. The story was so well thought out, and the music is just amazing. Thanks Kan Gao, for this beautiful game, I hope A Bird Story will be just as amazing.
Thanks for this great and wonderful game! What an incredible story! Made me remember of the nostalgic times I’ve been playing Chrono Trigger! You guys really did an excellent job! I have no words to describe.. It was awesome! Great game, great music, great story!
well… i’m a boy, real boy… my friends sometime call me a “poker face” boy, due to my lack of expression when i face something. i don’t easily get shocked at horror games, don’t easily laugh at most games when my friends laugh a lot, and of course, have never cry through games
sometimes, i miss the feeling of cry, due to nothing can’t make me cry in the past few years. i’m afraid i ran out of tears until i play this game. this game could make me cry when the game is just started(in river funeral), cry just by listen to the opening theme, cry in my friend house, cry when my girlfriend, who sat behind me, laugh out loud watching Running man, korean variety show.
But could make me laugh too, especially when watts promoting NASA, and said “utter failure”. thanks for this great game, Kan Gao!! my friends and I are inspired to make a game because of you. thanks, once again! really can’t wait for a bird story
Amazing gameJune 10, 2013 at 11:26 w | Permalink | Reply
I´m 38 now and I played a lot of games. Some of them had a real good story and some were very funny, but there has never been a game that made me cry. “To the moon” made me cry like a little boy. Also it made me laugh. Only some songs (including “For River” now) and a few books could do the same.
I really hope that your way of story-telling will set a trend. Thank you for a game that really touched my inside! Greetings from germany.
I most definitely loved the subtlety used in animating River. Her eye movement coupled with John’s simpler style of turn-and-look drew out torrents of sympathy from me.
And playing this game helped me learn quite a bit about myself… such as the possibility that I share River’s syndrome.
For instance, River’s habit of responding only to direct questions is something I frequently do. The song Laura sings (which I assume is from River’s perspective) addresses this issue of indecision. Particular attention to detail, even long-forgotten in the sands of the past, as with the moon bunny, has brought me to exceeding frustration with friends and family who did not understand where I was coming from.
My middle name is David. I used to read the Animorphs books up until I was eleven. I remember reading about David… My first guess for his main morph was a rat, due to its being his most recent and technically main morph since his capture and defeat. I tried snake, remembering the morph on his first cover. I also tried lion, after looking up the morphs online. I will only spoil the wrong answers, though. By the way, I’m a snake… ’89.
As for Lily and Johnny, I assumed they were in a relationship after her husband and his wife passed away. The way Lily talked about Tommy and Sarah clued me in… My brother and I have been rounded-about in this way many times.
Which brings me to another startling point… My brother’s name is Joseph, although I’ve never called him Joey. He and I were confused for twins growing up, and we used to role-play and play with the same toys. I am glad to say that we are both still alive and well, but the game resonates in the sense that I don’t see much of him anymore, even though we still have the same basic past with the same locales, same faces, and same possessions.
I kept feeling myself empathizing with both doctors, Johnny'ego, River, and even Lily and her two children. I cried when River told John, “I don’t like it when you lie.” I tried to take a screenshot of it in Steam, but instead it pulled up the pause screen with the blue and yellow origami bunny. The game got stuck at that point, but River’s words were in front of the pause screen, and I was struck down with a spiritual experience. It was my second play-through of the game.
Beautiful artwork! I commend you especially on River… I have fallen in love with a video game character. I admire the way the characters grow younger (or older, whichever way you want to look at it). And the deep philosophy embedded in every layer of the game makes it an instant classic. A new generation of storytelling, at our fingertips.
I… I just love this! I love the sound, I love the story, I love Neil, Rosaline, River and others from the very bottom of my heart. THANK YOU, FRIENDS! I cannot express my feelings well enough, but still I really appreciate all of your hard work. You’re the best!
In all of the years I have played video games, there is not one game that can compare to this game, beautiful story and has very nice graphics. I loved the story and felt a strong connection between the characters and myself. This game was the first and so far, the only game to make me cry, but I am hoping that the next episode will be just as amazing as this one. To The Moon is by far my favorite game and I intend to buy every episode you create. Keep up the good work Kan!
Hello! This is kind of off ttopic but I need some hlp from an established blog.
Is it very hard too set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where too start.

Your style is so unique compared to other folks I’ve read stuff from. Thanks for posting when you’ve got the opportunity, Guess I’ll just book mark this web site.
Must I use English?Well,I am a senior 2 students from China,so my English is very poor But I still want to say that this game is great. The music which touches the bottom of my heart and the wonderful story which can be adapted to a film combine perfectly. It is the same with Finding Paradise. But I still enjoy To The Moon best,as it made me absorbed in thinking. As a Chinese saying goes”I am like me in the past,I am not me in the past” though Jhon go to the moon with River at last,But River is not the one who are willing to fold papper into rabbits along her life and sarcrifice herself for Anya. When I finish Finging Paradise ,I suddenly know that it is a target, but I can not come up with a better ending.
All I can say is that “To the Moon” is a great game. I still have not played its sequel but I’m sure I’ll be delighted again. Tearjerking moments with dialogs as close as reality is better than sweet lies.
Interesting article. One other thing is that if you are disposing your property by yourself, among the problems you need to be conscious of in advance is just how to manage property inspection reports. Being a FSBO owner, the important thing towards efficiently switching your home as well as saving cash about real estate agent income will be know-how. Greater you realize, the more stable your current sales hard work will be. One area in which this is particularly important is actually information about home inspections.
It’s a touching game ,very.very.
Love this game from the bottom of my heart.Made me cry.
espeacially the last when the rocket was flying in the sky.
I agree with devilshunter
its really touching
