About the Mac port
This native port uses mkxp
which is written by Ancurio (Jonas Kulla) and is covered under the GPL version 2.0.
I have also used everything I have learned from Ancurio (from using his Win32_Wrap script to copying his method for putting save files in a user directory, and even got a fix for one of the incompatible scripts from him), so more or less you could say Ancurio has made this port.
This port also uses other open source software that are listed with their licenses in the "Licenses" folder.Download Quintessence (Chapters 1-11) for Mac
(Please note that Quintessence is incomplete, it was planned to have three more chapters and it is currently on a hiatus).System Requirements
It should work with any Mac running OS X 10.6 or later.Unidentified developer issue
If OS X Gatekeeper complains about the game being from an unidentified developer, right click on Quintessence - The Blighted Venom.app
and click on "Open". It is only required for the first launch of the game.Save files
In order to reach your save files:
- While you are in Finder, press Command-Shift-G.
- Enter the following and click on the Go button:
You may notice that there is also an "Auto-Save Archives" folder in there.
In order to use those auto-save files you should copy them from there to the quintessence folder (the same path mentioned above) and rename them to Save1.rxdata, Save2.rxdata or Save3.rxdata.
