--------------------------------------------------
                     Prelude
--------------------------------------------------

0:14 [A]woken by rain
     only dreams that remain
     of all our wunderful times.

0:26 the long past joys
     of hearing your voice,
     and your most beautiful smile

0:36 Can't focus no more
you are all I ache for
     my very essence of life

0:48 With unseeing eyes
     I slowly arise
     to start my journey again.

--------------------------------------------------
                   1st. Refrain
--------------------------------------------------

0:59 Flying [so] high
     in the evening sky
     looking all over the world.

1:10 Traveling far
     to all places there are
     Always searching for my beloved.

1:21 Every night
     your words I recite
"So this is   where we part."

1:32 Every day
     across ocean and bay
     until I finally find you
1:43 till I find you
1:48 so finally I     c a n    un-do
1:54 that I let you go
1:59 I miss you so

--------------------------------------------------
                    Interlude
     male singer            female singer
--------------------------------------------------

2:45 missing those days     missing those days
when i held            when I lay
you in my arms         in your strong arms

2:56 your pretty face       the last embrace
     I can't get            I can't get
out of my mind         out of my mind

--------------------------------------------------
                   2nd. Refrain
--------------------------------------------------

3:09 Flying [so] high
     in the evening sky
     looking all over the world.

3:22 Traveling far
     to all places there are
     Always searching for my beloved.

3:36 Every night
     your words I recite
"So this is   where we part."

3:47 Every day
     across ocean and bay
     until I finally find you
3:59 until I finally find you
4:08 where    can i find    you    my love

Notes:
  • I recommend a singer with a soft, touching voice, maybe something alike "Rome - Total war - Forever (Credits music)" by Jeff van Dyck, or "Two worlds - Play the game (Harold Faltermeyer featuring AmberMoon introducing Kyra) (should be both available on youtube);    female singer prefered, so I'm not sure the text is optimal for a female "protagonist";
  • English is not my primary language... feel free to correct me as needed.
  • Suggestions and comments concerning the "female singer version" are very welcome, so I hope I don't have to change the refrains too much.
  • The times are based on "Where We Part - James Q. Zhang.ogg", so one can quickly refind the exact position, and to avoid misinterpretations. You can find the file in the "AudioBGM" folder of your "Quintessence - The Blighted Venom" installation directory; Don't mix up with the Credit Version (which is shorter and has interlude and second refrain only) which has different timings, which are not listed here.
  • I must admit I haven't entirely played the game, and didn't read all the story either. But the music is great, and I hope you like the lyrics even if they are not entirely related to the game.
  • The phrase "So this is where we part." was originally added to have the title included. I liked it because it adds some uniqueness (esp. with the rhyme above) instead of endless voyaging and seeking, and increases the atmosphere at the key point of the refrain.
  • The square brakets indicate variations, because it's hard to tell if it's easier/better [to sing] with one syllable more or less.

Whoa, this is really great stuff! o_O I've never thought of writing lyrics to an already existing song... but this is just wonderful!
I'd love to sing it ^^ maybe I'll try :)

and as far as I think, there's nothing wrong with your English here. ^^ hope you'll write something to the beginning too, because this is just beautiful, I love it! :D

Aye, this is really fantastic, Reti. I've been tracing through it as I listen to the track, and it fits perfectly. I'm still in the process of discussing implementing this with James.

*cough* Most all of it. I'd be in the middle of singing the first section when sometimes the timer hits 1:10. It's like that with a few other sections, too.

Most of it doesn't exactly start at the very second, only close to it, but there are half- or quarter-a-second differences. But if you just get the tune, you'll get it. If you start from e.g. 0:57, you'll have right the refrain starting, from that point it just gives itself (at least for me ^^")

After mouthing the lyrics numerous times, I think it's finally starting to fall into place for me. x_o

Finally finished the prelude (lyrics for the first minute) ... pretty much stress "having to" complete something.
There are still few things I consider improving a bit (in case something better comes to my mind)
Never thought I would write lyrics I like "hearing" myself... But the music is so great, any lyrics would sound good.

I did some few minor poems lately and wantet to do something enhanced. I choose writing lyrics because it is more emotional, and this song really drove me on. Another pro is that for song lyrics there are no such strong rules. For a lot songs I always thought it whould be better if it was instrumental, but not knowing any text for the melodie is strange.

The verses sound abit alike at first, esp. without lyrics ... One of the first things I did was adding the times so I would not totally mess up myself.

I just sang it all the way through right now. And now that I've managed to time it correctly, I can say it's beautiful and very well-written.

By the way:

0:26 the long past joice
     of hearing you voice,

I don't think the word "joice" exists. I think maybe you meant to put "joys"?

Very nice! I do kind of like the first installment (the ones after 0:59) more though, but that's not to say that the first segment isn't good.
