Has anyone been able to create additional dialogue boxes like Reives said?

When i try to, Dreammaker writes this error:

In Team Deutsch we also had a lot of those problems - it just means "something is wrong with the dialogue for that map". But what - I do not know. Maybe King Kadelfek can see it.

This problem happens when DMK tries to replace a dialogue at position x, and the instruction at position x is not a message.
When someone includes dialogues (Step 3) the positions change. So, you have to do Step 2.
translate > Step 3 > Step 2 > translate > Step 3 > Step 2 > etc...
I call this problem the "Step 3 problem".

I desactivated the automatic Step 3 + Step 2, it should have been back in v3.9, but I never developed this version. 
Don't worry, the option is back in DMK XP 4.9. AND when there is a problem with a dialogue, this dialogue is skipped.

DreaMaker 4 is far much better, because I developed for Aldorlea Games / Big Fish, with many returns from Indinera.

I vaguely remember that this is expected with the current DreaMaker and the newest version incoming will fix it, but just in case:
Hi guys... One of our members has tested out, it turns out that chinese characters didnt show up in the game. Probably it is because UTF-8 encoding. Can we get anything that could fix that problem?

DreaMaker 4.9.1 is available (2,9 Mo) :

Put the executable and every folder in your RPG Maker XP folder.

New :
- robuster
- can display west european characters (accents, german characters)
- better error messages, so you know which text causes problem
- too long messages are splitted into several text boxes
- can be translated into other languages (look into languages.csv and DreaMaker.ini)

Yes, you need the unencrypted game files in order to import the new diolgue-file.

ok, so I've tested it. Thai font doesn't work in the game :(  I shows nothing at all

I don't know if it's the game font itself doesn't support thai or it's the DreaMaker (tested both versions) !!

I have the dialogues.txt file converted to UTF-8

Anybody got any ideas?

any help would be really appreciated!

I want to say that I'm really, really happy that the translation have been updated to DMK XP 4.x. :D
Because I don't support DMK 3.8 (it's several years old), so if someone have a problem with DMK XP 4.x, I can help him. ;)


Resources updated to DMK 4.91.
It's 4.9.1, not 4.91. I edited your posts (Reives gave me mod status).

Please always specify DMK XP 4.9.1, because DreaMaker version 4.x works only with RPG Maker XP. I try to avoid confusion.

Hi all,

I try to start the translation project, but I am stuck, before done anything  :)

1. I have downloaded the original scripts (it is the same in the dialogue.txt and the Google docs?)

2. I translated some dialogues (UTF8 OK).

3. How can I test it? I have Dreamaker_XP4.9.1.exe in the directory where to the moon.exe is, but this says:

  Warning DMKW_Unknown_Project_Type *41* :
    Impossible to determine if folder Data contains a RM project.
You must place DreaMaker.exe in your RM game's folder.
Press Enter to continue

What should be the next step?

You need a developer version of the game to insert the translations (seperation into a Data/Graphics/Audio Folder etc.)
If you don't have one, you will have to contact Reives about this.
