Just for the record, I was going to add visual novel style faces even if I just kept the sprites. Lol

Are you going to make multiple faces with different emotions, or just one face to rule them all?
River: *Drops hacky sack*
River: "Can you throw this is as far as where Anya's at?"
John: "I can try."
John: "(Now I'll amaze her with my feat of strength.)"
John: *Throws hacky sack into ocean*
River: *Runs to cliff edge*
John: "River! Stop looking at my awesome throw and get away from that ledge!"
River: *Backs into John and silently sits down*
John: "(...Nailed it.)"

Multiple faces!! I honestly prefer the lack of a face to just one singular face. Especially if the character's one face to rule them all has an emotion. When someone's line is " I'm going to read your f****ing face off!!!!" And the face just shows the usual shy smile, it's annoying :P I'm thinking of maybe using live 2D for the faces.

I had to look up what Live2d was.

So it wouldn't be a still picture, it would have movement? Awesome :)

@elke, she's fourteen. Much older, and it'd seem rather silly. Len is older than her, but he has magic that let's him disguise himself. So he can look identical to her (I figured I needed to give him magic for that due to the age difference XD)

Gotchaaa, nice save XD

I wasn't referring to visual novels, I was referring to these RPGMaker games and those like it; these free games (with low quality visuals) made with some simple editor. But really, when I think about it, I could say that same thing about all free games that involve face to face conversations, which requires some kind of emotion. Hell, games that actually have a budget have a hard time getting voiced conversations right, and I've yet to hear of a free game that's managed it. Of course, there is no absolute rule about these things, and I imagine that there must be a free game out there with some decently (English) voiced conversations. If anyone knows of one, please share ^_^ And I'm not referring to those 'free' MMOs that make money in non-subscription based ways.
I just watched Markiplier as he started an Amnesia Custom Story with fairly good voice acting. I thought that the guy was alright, but found the lady's voice to be better - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOavpN6kjMA

Reminding myself to download and try this out sometime

other than that sorry for necroing
Videogame developers are not gods that anyone should worship. I hereby decide that is my top existential reason to prove that horrible, horrible misconception, because that is becoming annoyingly rampant in every corner of the internet.  They can deserve critism, or thrashing even. It doesn't even need to be constructive critism. And even if you are a free game developer doesn't mean community is your personal ego farm.

Necropost is necro.

I did recently fix a gamebreaking bug and every typo I could find.

So like...yeah. It's slightly better now.

Hey, I haven't been on here in about... How long has it been? ... How many posts do I even have?

Anyways, my brother, Abrom, was suggesting I try out this game so I went ahead and recorded myself doing a couple parts so far (as my channel content is largely RPG Maker stuff anyways).

https://vid.me/iieQ9 is the first part I have at the moment.

The video is scheduled at the moment and will also be public on Youtube later today, but Vidme lets me share scheduled videos easier than Youtube for early access stuff or something.

https://youtu.be/YgSQ8Ym04BQ will be up 3pm EST today (8/17/17).

So, yeah, hope I didn't ruin your game too much with my voices. Also, wanted to apologize for my face... I was very tired and still need to trim my beard. :) And I got pretty lazy with the thumbnail. 8)
