Marlin's Music (this time for real)
« on: August 15, 2016, 06:40:50 PM »
A couple weeks ago I got a new ocarina, but haven't been able to play it much, since I've been out of town a bit. Today I sat down and recorded this. It's not the best, since I've only had my ocarina for a couple weeks, but I'm glad with how it turned out  . I recorded it on my tenor ocarina using Audacity, with four separate tracks, and changed the pitch of some of the tracks to make them sound more like soprano or bass ocarinas (and I'm surprised with how realistic it sounded). As a result, the melody line is the only track whose pitch I didn't change. Also, I had no idea how to end it, because the original song runs on a continuous loop :P

Without further ado, here it is

Oh, and here's the ocarina (lemon for scale):
Spoiler: show

Yeah man! This sounds cool and creepy  and even with Lav-T's creepiness it's a good point in my day!
Also you just got the ocarina a few weeks ago... When I played the clarinet the first few weeks, it was hilariously terrible

Depends on which key you play it in.

Very cool, didn't expect harmony and it actually had the right on atmosphere. o: Nicely done.

And to be fair for the To Realize thing: Reivier only played the very first part of it (I think) :P

Okay, then to be fair, the first 24 notes are pretty easy to play ;)

Hey guys, I've got another one!

This one's centered around a melody that popped into my head a month or two ago, and I thought it would be a good theme for a game. I threw together a little orchestration, and made a rough version of it in LMMS (emphasis on "rough" :P ). It sounds a bit awkward, due to flaws in the instrument plugins, as well as the fact that this is an earlier iteration of the theme, and I intend to polish this up some more. In the (not-too-distant) future, I hope to implement this as the title theme for a RMXP game. I've been in a really big creative slump lately, and I feel like making this has helped motivate me.
